We’re back for social fencing and individual lessons from Saturday 17 January 2025 and Tuesday 13 January 2026. Note: The club will open from 3:00pm on Saturdays 17 and 24 January 2026 and will go back to the usual 10.00am to 5.00pm from Saturday 31 January 2026.

You can now pay your club membership for 2026.
Membership fees for 2026 can be paid now. The club uses your membership fee to pay for the Club venue and insurance for our members.
The next children’s beginner class will commence Term 1, 11:00am, Saturday 31 January, 2026
This is a great way to learn with your friends, along with other people who have never fenced before.
Duration:
Beginners course runs for a minimum duration of 10 weeks. Lesson are 60 mins
Lesson cost:
$200 (payable to the coach)
When:
Saturday 11:00am – 12:00am
Beginner registration fee:
$50
Equipment provided:
You will receive a mask and jacket for the duration of their beginner lessons. Females will also be provided with a breast plate. A glove will need to be purchased ($35) on their first lesson.

We don’t require our beginners to become members as soon as they start, however we do require some information from you when you are starting off. The beginner form is required to cover you for you by insurance while you are learning to fence.

Club members of all ages and standards are invited to compete in the annual Nils Saksen Mixed Handicap Foil. Fencing will be electric with score handicaps against the more competent fencers. Prizes awarded to the top 6 finalists. All competitors must have their own equipment.

Arrival – 8:30am for 9:00am roll call President’s address – 9:15am – 9:30am Start of competition – 9:30am Lunch – During the lunch period, a free sausage sizzle with drink will be provided for all entrants. Notice is hereby given of the 2025 Annual General Meeting of The Swords Club to be held at North Sydney Girls High hall on Saturday 20 September 2025, 3pm. All members are invited to attend.

Club members of all ages and standards are invited and encouraged to compete. Fencing will be both electric and non-electric with score handicaps against the more competent fencers. Prizes will be awarded to all finalists.
Not fencing? You’re still invited to join us and cheer on the fencers, just have a chat with everyone else, or help with hospitality.
Parking will be available in the school through the gates to the left of the loading bay and also along Emmett Street.
Coffee and tea will be available throughout the day and a free sausage sizzle and drink will be provided to all competition entrants. Other food items will be available for a gold coin donation throughout the day. If you’re a budding chef or baker, you’re welcome to bring samples to share!
We will have Club hoodies, t-shirts, and a few pre-loved items and equipment for sale. If you have outgrown and/or unused items, bring them as well — somebody just might be looking for that particular item!
